Heading to the Irish Craft Beer Festival 2017? The event, running from the 7th to the 9th of September in the RDS, offers a great opportunity to taste fine brews from companies new and established.
Below, five arguments in favour of not missing this exciting event…
1. You’ll be among the first ones to discover new breweries
Don’t miss the stand of Larkin’s Brewing Co, a family-run brewery introducing itself to the public for the very first time. Another first timer is Priory Brewing, Ireland’s first social enterprising brewery, based in Tallaght and with only a handful of days since their launch. Drop by and give both a big welcome to the Irish craft beer scene!
2. You’ll get to try new brews from well known players
Just as it’s great to see new faces, it’s a big pleasure to find out what’s new from the brewers we know and love. For example, Costellos Brewing Company’s new White Rhino and Spelt IPA Dinkel; Sullivan’s Brewing Company new Kiwi Lime Pale Ale label made in collaboration with Hellfire Brew Club; Wicklow Wolf’s Summersalt Blackcurrant Goose and Trouble Brewing Mandarin Crush Fruit Lager.
3. Craft Spirits and ciders worth discovering
While you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to beers, the event also offers you the opportunity to taste some fine craft ciders and a few Irish spirits. Don’t miss Toby’s Handcrafted Cider, Bonac 24 Irish Gin and Micil Poitin, just to name a few.
4. Live entertainment and ping-pong
Expect DJ’s bringing the festival to the next level. Sip your favourite ales as they provide the perfect soundtrack and check out the silent disco. Need a break from all the coolness? Run to the ping-pong table and smash it.
5. The food area
Feel free to arrive with an appetite as not everything worth tasting here is liquid. Expect delicious bites from artisan producers including Jane Russell’s Handmade Sausages, Pieman, Say Fish and The Dublin Cookie Co.
