A Street Food Feast to Pop Up in a Rural West Cork Pub

Kate Ryan, the woman behind the successful Flavour.ie Supper Club; Clonakilty Walking Food Tour and Summer Showcase, sets her sights on a new series of collaborative pop up events around West Cork for the Autumn/Winter Season. It all kicks off with a feast of street food and wines from The Sharp Knife and Curious Wines, all in a cozy West Cork pub.

Taking place on Saturday 22nd October, traditional Tots Pub, in the sleepy West Cork village of Ballygurteen, will be transformed into a Mexican Cantina, where diners will be treated to multiple courses of street food eats each one designed by The Sharp Knife to tease and delight even the most skeptic of diners and wine-matched with precision by the unconventional sommeliers of Curious Wines. In the background, local DJ talent Gary Hannon will be slowly ramping up the atmosphere until it’s time to hit the dancefloor.

The kitchen will be taken over by The Sharp Knife from Cork City, a self-styled guerilla street-food pop-up crew with serious chef credentials. The Sharp Knife is their creative outlet for bringing the food they love to the table – street food inspired by a world of flavours.

Each course provided by The Sharp Knife will be expertly matched by Michael Kane of Curious Wines. This wine warehouse is a West Cork success story. Starting out with a small warehouse in Bandon, Curious Wines now have two cavernous premises: one in Togher, Cork and the other on the Naas Road in Co Kildare, plus their hugely successful online wine store. They create close relationships with the wineries they showcase, and every wine is thoroughly road tested for quality, consistency and price.

The menu itself is a secret and won’t be revealed until diners arrive. Places are limited so pre-booking is essential. The event is €60 per head with wine or €50 per head without wine, includes a cocktail/mocktail on arrival, 7 courses of delicious food with matched wines, tea/coffee and live music by DJ Gary Hannon.

Book securely online at www.flavour.ie/popup or contact Kate on 086 205 9360.
