Perfect Portugal – You Can Now Fly Direct From Cork to Lisbon

Have you always wanted to visit the architecturally stunning Portuguese capital of Lisbon?

Well, from this October, you can fly direct from Cork Airport to Lisbon thanks to Aer Lingus’ new Winter 2018 schedule.

Beginning on October 26th, the new route will operate twice weekly all year round, bringing Lisbon much closer to Corkonians.

With beautiful sunshine, a rich history and some delicious culinary treats, including the ever popular Portuguese custard tarts, it’s no surprise that Lisbon is one of Europe’s most popular city breaks.

Speaking at the announcement of the new route, Mike Rutter, Aer Lingus’ Chief Operating Officer, commented: “We are delighted to announce a new route for Cork and further grow our base at one of Europe’s leading airports. The new Cork Lisbon route will begin as part of our winter programme and will operate year-round.”

He added: “This new route along with increased capacity on our Tenerife service allows us to grow our presence at Cork airport which remains a key priority for Aer Lingus.”

Cork Airport Managing Director Niall MacCarthy also commented on the new route, saying: “We welcome the decision by our biggest customer, Aer Lingus, to commence operations from Cork to Lisbon in response to strong consumer demand for additional flights from Cork Airport.”

He added: “This new route will be very popular for leisure and business in both directions. This announcement is an excellent development for Cork Airport and the 2.4 million passengers we serve across the south of Ireland.”

A great new route for Cork Airport, fares from Cork to Lisbon start from €39.99 and will be available for purchase on aerlingus.com from next Wednesday.
