Air Canada Announces New Direct Flight Between Toronto And Shannon

There’s exciting news for the west of Ireland and Canadian tourism thanks to Air Canada’s new direct flight from Toronto to Shannon.

At an event to highlight the new route in Toronto, around 100 leading Canadian travel journalists and travel agents, HE Jim Kelly, Ambassador of Ireland to Canada, as well as senior representatives of Air Canada and Shannon Airport were all in attendance.

Flying four times a week, the Toronto to Shannon route will take off this June and give Canadian travellers easier access to Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.

Speaking at the event in Toronto, Dana Welch, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Canada, said: “We’re really excited about the new Air Canada service from Toronto to Shannon. It’s good news for tourism to the West of Ireland – providing Canadian holidaymakers with easier than ever access to the Wild Atlantic Way.”

She added: “2017 was the best year ever for Irish tourism from Canada – with visitor numbers increasing by around +12% over 2016. We look forward to working closely with Air Canada and Shannon Airport, to maximise the promotion of this new flight and maintain the strong growth momentum.”
