Mince pies are easily one of the best features of Christmas food, especially when topped with smooth Brandy cream and eaten with a hot cuppa on the side. So as we count down the days until it’s appropriate to start tucking into these little tarts, one supermarket in particular has given us a bigger reason to look forward to the season, spoiling us with mince pies made with gin. Get ready, because Aldi Specially Selected Sloe Gin Mince Tarts are coming this Christmas!
The traditional mince pie has just been upgraded and its filling sounds absolutely delicious. These festive treats, from the supermarket’s luxury range, are made from a sweet mix of mince, vine fruits, citrus peel, the traditional spices, then infused with Sloe Gin and topped with flaked almonds for a crunchy texture twist. This tasty blend of ingredients will be within a well-baked pastry case, that you can eat either hot or cold.
Always delivering for the Christmas season, the brand offers traditional Stollen cake and Lebkuchen (gingerbread filled with plum jam), providing the Irish with a great taste of Germany.
But this year, Aldi has gone above and beyond for their selection of Irish cuisine in store – as the Specially Selected Sloe Gin Mince Tarts are causing quite a stir among foodies, and especially those who love their gin.
We may have to wait a little longer to indulge ourselves, as the gin mince pies will only be available at Aldi stores nationwide from November 16th, but at approx. €2.55 per pack of 6 we can already see them flying off the shelves.
