Cask Bar’s Andy Ferreira to Represent Ireland at World Class Bartending Finals in Mexico

Andy Ferreira, bartender behind the acclaimed Corkonian bar Cask has a new reason to raise a a glass and toast as he prepares to compete among the world’s top bartenders at the World Class Finals in Mexico City next week.

The competition for one of the most highly coveted accolades in the global bartending scene will be fought over four days, starting on Monday 21st of August. Andy, who won the Irish finals held last May at Zozimus Bar will battle sixty professionals who will gather in Mexico City to showcase their skills and flair.

Andy’s range of bespoke cocktails influenced by his heritage and made from foraged materials,got him the first place at the nationals, and now he’ll face his biggest challenge up to date.

Speaking about the finals, he said: “World Class is no easy feat and it deserves your best effort. The competition is going to be intense on all levels. I couldn’t be more excited to head out to Mexico City and represent Ireland, and Cork, on the global stage. Bring it on!”
