The award winning Artisan Restaurant has teamed up with Tig Neactain on Quay Street, Galway to bring diners a bespoke pairing lunch menu.
The gastropub style food will be available in the traditional Irish pub from 12 to 3pm and will pair each dish with a matching drink, either craft beer, artisan cider or select wine.
The menu has been created especially for Tig Neactain by Artisan Restaurant owner Matt Skeffington and focuses on seasonal, locally grown, wild and foraged ingredients.
Starters include a creamy Atlantic seafood chowder paired with Galway Hooker pale ale, as well as an Irish mezze plate of Gubbeen chorizo and salami, Macroom mozzarella, pickled veg and tapenade paired with Hazana Crianza Rioja.
Mains consist of a sticky beef rib paired with Cosmic Cow milk stout; an Indian spiced lamb burger with Kinnegar Limeburner pale ale; a prawn linguini matched up with Kinnegar Scraggy Bay citrus pine light malt, and the organic salmon is paired with Picpoul de Pinet from Languedoc.
For a lighter lunch, a range of gourmet sandwiches is available, all paired with their own carefully selected beverages. Enjoy the ham hock paired with Stonewell craft cider, house smoked chicken with Muller Zweigelt from Kremstal, Australia, and smoked salmon & smoked mackerel paté paired with Cossetti Gavi.
You can also choose a salad, either the mixed seed, toasted goat cheese balls, glazed beets and organic leaves salad which is paired with Antonutti Pinot Grigio, or a Parma ham, Irish feta, dried figs, rocket and balsamic reduction salad, paired with Montezuma Ripasso.
Matt Skeffington says, “At Artisan we are on a journey to introduce diners to the delights of the wild foods we have on our doorstep. Our menu which is served in Neactain’s is the same quality as we serve upstairs with the exciting added extra of the drinks’ pairings.”
The Artisan Restaurant at Tig Neactain menu is served 12 noon to 3pm. See www.artisangalway.com for more details.
