Great Taste, the world’s most coveted blind-tasted food awards, has announced its Great Taste stars of 2016 and Irish retailer Avoca has received 7 awards. A 2-star rating was awarded to its Lamb Tagine, with judges commenting on the tenderness and lovely spicing of the slow-cooked meat and 2-stars were also given to its Oat and Seed Bars, which were deemed to have a wonderful mix of fruits, nuts, oats and spices.

– 1-star: Persian Lamb,
– 1-star: Smoked Chopotle Chilli Beef
– 1-star: Good Mood Vegetarian Chilli
– 1-star: Christmas Pudding
– 1-star: Superberry Granola

As well as a badge of honour, the unmistakeable black and gold Great Taste label is a signpost to a wonderful tasting product, which has been discovered through hours and hours of blind-tasting by hundreds of judges.
Great Taste 2016 will reach its exciting finale on Monday 5 September, when the world of fine food gathers at the Royal Garden Hotel in London to find out the Golden Fork winners for each region at an Awards Dinner, with the final applause reserved for the Great Taste Supreme Champion 2016.
