Belfast Cocktail Week to Showcase the Best of the City’s Bartending Scene this October

Belfast Cocktail Week will showcase the creativity and talent of some of the city’s top bars and bartenders from Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd of October.

Eight of Belfast’s best bars will team up to mix and shake world class cocktails and to surprise both the public and those who work in the industry: one of the highlights of the festival will be the week-long programme of cocktail events and workshops hosted by prestigious professionals.

The bars taking part in Belfast cocktail Week 2017 include The National & Sixty6, The Merchant, Muriels, The Spaniard, Bootleggers, Bullitt, Babel and The Dirty Onion.

Some of the unmissable activities on the calendar include a residency by award-winning London establishment Swift Bar’s in the The Merchant Hotel’s Cocktail Bar and a reenactment of the birth of the cocktail at The Luggage Room takeover of Club Sixty6.

Each participating venue has chosen a signature cocktail to celebrate the week, for example, The Merchant will feature the Espresso Martini, Bullitt will go for The ankle-Bitter and The National is mixing the Green Eyed Guard.

Belfast Cocktail Week organiser, Bronagh Bennett, told The Belfast Telegraph: “Belfast Cocktail Week is a way of showing that Belfast can compete on an international level alongside cities with great cocktail cultures such as London, Edinburgh and even New York.”
