The Perfect Bubbles to Celebrate – Boutique Wines Introduce Brimoncourt Champagne

Because each customer is unique, Champagne Brimoncourt carefully selects highly qualified and experienced partners for its distribution throughout the world. The convergence of values and long-term vision are essential prerequisites and that’s why, at Boutique Wines, we are proud to be the exclusive distributor for Brimoncourt in Ireland.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild France Distribution (RFD), a 100% subsidiary of Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, integrates the distribution of the Champagne Brimoncourt range on a selective distribution network in France (wine shops, cafés, hotels and restaurants) including Nicolas, the oldest French wine merchant (founded in 1822) and its 494 stores.

A Well Rounded Champagne

In 2008, Alexandre Cornot woke up the dormant Brimoncourt to turn it into a bright and bold Champagne Maison. Not afraid to go off the beaten path, he quit his successful Lawyer career in New York and moved back to his home region to fulfil his vision.

Boutique Wines Introduce Brimoncourt Champagne

Setting up a champagne Maison requested 6 years of uninterrupted hard labour, willpower and many encounters, to find the right partners and build the trusting relationships that would ensure the longevity of the house’s style.

The Brimoncourt wines are born in Aÿ, the historical heart of the Champagne Region. Their anchorage is their promise, compelling them to bring special care to the selection of vines and grapes when creating their wines. Brimoncourt’s quest for excellence relies upon the access to the best Crus in Champagne. The Maison’s oenologist and his team have searched for a terroir-oriented supply, to provide the house with the finest possible grape varieties in the long run.

The Brimoncourt Way

At Brimoncourt, they’re are proud of developing a lively and daring brand with strong personalities who share a common vision and passion for this wonderful wine that is champagne. More than just a great wine, Brimoncourt is a way of being.

Brimoncourt rekindles with the original DNA of Champagne, when it first became fashionable at the royal court during the Régence Era: A short and refreshing moment of entertainment. Champagne, a wine to celebrate the everyday, a symbol of lightness, sharing, elegance and independence.

Free spirited and nurtured by a quest of excellence, Champagne Brimoncourt is the wine of combined status and lightness, an expression of joyous sophistication and relaxed elegance, supported by high-quality, very fresh wines.

A Sustainable Approach

Brimoncourt took the necessary time to find the right partners, to set up lasting, sustainable and qualitative procurement strategy. Cultivating relationships of trust with players in the business and the vineyards sectors lies at the core of the Maison’s strategy.

With their careful supply selection method, they encourage integrated viticulture throughout the vine growing cycle: soil and vine nutrition, biodiversity preservation, balance of the vine and strengthening of its natural defences.

The Finest Blends and Grape Varieties

Brimoncourt’s Chardonnays, characterised by their floral notes, are made from the best vintages of the Côtes des Blancs (Avize, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Chouilly…), their Pinots Noir and Pinots Meunier stem from the Montagne de Reims and the Marne Valley (Aÿ, Hautvillers, Mailly-Champagne, Avenay, Bouzy.

Wine Ratings
Gérard Basset – Master of Wine – Best Sommelier of the World – 94/100
Jancis Robinson – Master of Wine – 16.5 Points
Andrew Caillard – Master of Wine – 96/100

This fine blend of grapes from the Côte des Blancs is supremely full and elegant. Generous, fresh and subtle, Brimoncourt Blanc de Blancs is the perfect apéritif… A well balanced Champagne made exclusively from Chardonnay (a majority of Grands Crus Classés). This wine of exceptional elegance has a very light yellow colour with golden glimmers.

The typical nose opens on notes of brioche and fruits with aromas of white hawthorn and acacia. The palate is smooth, enveloped by the freshness of citrus notes, lemon, grapefruit zest. A remarkable length, a lingering mineral and chalky finish invite to prolong the pleasure.

Pairing Recommendation: Extremely fresh and subtle, Brimoncourt’s Blanc de Blancs is ideal for a distinctive aperitif; it also agrees with smoked salmon, sashimi, sushi, shellfish and grilled fish.

Andrew Caillard – Master of Wine – 94/100

Dominated by Chardonnay, Brut Régence has a great aromatic finesse and embodies Brimoncourt’s spirit and signature. It is a gallant wine all the more seducing with its freshness, round texture and delicately fruity finish.

The dominant Chardonnay feature creates a delicate, subtle and very elegant bouquet. It reveals white flowers aroma and charming fruity notes thanks to the Pinot Noir. Its affirmed minerality gives it distinction and nobility. The well rounded mouth is enjoyable; a dash of freshness invigorates the palate and brings out a beautiful, ample and complex structure with a good length in mouth.

Pairing Recommendation: Its fineness and elegance call for sharing. Best savoured on a lime and sea bass tartar, a langoustine ceviche, a poached turbot with mousseline sauce, melting scallops on braised leeks and of course and above all, as a shared aperitif.

Composed of 80% Pinot noir and 20% Chardonnay, the Extra-Brut cuvée is the result of a rigorous selection of the best grapes from outstanding years, in 6 villages classified as Grand Cru. After 4 years spent maturing in the cellar, this 2g wine is the purest expression of the Maison Brimoncourt’s know how.

Its very light yellow robe sparkles with delicate bubbles gathering into a persistent string of pearls of great purity. Fine and intense nose with notes of citrus and white fruits. The attack is forthright, frank and full. The aromas of citrus fruits are in perfect harmony with its minerality and it offers a splendid lingering finish.

Pairing Recommendation: With its outstanding freshness, this wine is excellent for aperitif. It is also ideal with shellfish and iodine flavours. It will complement Japanese and Korean cuisine particularly well just as it will enhance spicy undertones.

Gérard Basset – Master of Wine – Best Sommelier of the World – 92/100
Jancis Robinson – Master of Wine – 15.5 Points
Andrew Caillard – Master of Wine – 95/100

Its blend is made of 35% Chardonnay for elegance and finesse, 40% Pinot Noir for structure and colour and 25% of Pinot Meunier for fruity aromas. Its delicate porcelain pink robe and its rose, raspberry and bergamot aromas add up to a voluptuous and seductive wine that will impress all tasters.

The porcelain pink robe is beautiful, livened by strings of bubbles forming a thin and consistent lace. Discrete on the nose, delicate with its citrus and bergamot fragrances, it then blossoms into melon and raspberry notes. The attack is bold, mixed with smooth and fruity aromas developing into Rose, Honey and Cinnamon.

Pairing Recommendation: The Brut rosé is a delicate wine, perfect for aperitif but also on cheese such as chaource, brie, salers. For dessert, it will compliment a wild strawberry feuillantine or raspberry macaroons to perfection.

FEATURE BY BOUTIQUE WINES

Boutique Wines LogoWe started Boutique Wines in 2001 with just two wines from Bordeaux. We chose them because they were made by an independent winemaker whose family had been tending vines for five generations and because the care and attention that this family had invested in their vines over the years produced wines of real character and exceptional quality.

This is how we started. And this is how we have continued. By following this simple philosophy of excellence and quality that we’ve built our business. We work closely with both the vineyard and the customer to find the best fit. We buy directly from source and take great satisfaction in maintaining our hard won reputation of promoting and protecting the interests of both customers and suppliers.
