Great News for Bulmers Lovers as €1.8 Million Visitor Centre Has Been Announced

Bulmers, one of Ireland’s most popular ciders, is involved in a €5 million tourism project with Tipperary County Council. The project will bring a €1.8 million visitor centre to Clonmel.

The attraction, set to be built at West Gate, is expected to bring 100,000 visitors to Tipperary Town each year. It hopes to attract Bulmers lovers from all over the world to visit its hometown and see how it is made.

HR chief for Tipperary County Council Paul Murray said, “The big feature in County Tipperary for visitors is the Rock of Cashel and, unfortunately, they leave the county after that. We want to pull people towards Clonmel, predominantly the foreign market, the culturally curious tourist, as the town has so much history.”

Visitors will get a first hand experience in the making of Bulmers. They will follow the apples through their journey until they have become delicious bottles of cider and will also get to visit the coopers’ room where barrels were built and repaired.

This project is hoping to be the key that will unlock Clonmel’s significant visitor potential.

Other new experiences involved in the tourism project will include the redeveloped County Museum and Suir Island and the River Suir.
