Cadbury’s Has Released a Freddo Hot Chocolate and it’s Causing Quite a Stir

They may be small, but many people have big love for Cadbury’s frog shaped Freddo bars.

You can image the excitement then when the chocolate manufacturer recently released a Freddo Hot Chocolate.

According to Cadbury’s you need “just swirl one heaped teaspoon into a cup of warm milk for a delicious hot chocolate” with the “great chocolatey taste that you expect from Cadbury” – but let’s be honest, who adds just one teaspoon?

Now widely available in supermarkets in the UK, for a 175g pack the drinking chocolate retail for around the £1.50 mark.

The product has now been spotted on the shelves of stores in Belfast, so it’s only a matter of time before it take a hop, skip and jump into shops around the rest of our island.

freddo-bar

While the release of the new Freddo hot chocolate is causing excitement on social media some have questioned whether it Cadbury’s are just pulling the purple packaging over our eyes, causing a stir of a different kind and one that might leave a bad taste in customers mouths.

Freddo’s are essentially Dairy Milk bars shaped as adorable frogs, and as such that is exactly what Freddo hot chocolate is too: Dairy Milk hot chocolate.

Aside from the different packaging, according to the Cadbury’s website the ingredients for the two ‘varieties’ of drinking chocolate are exactly the same.

There is the possibility that the ‘flavourings’ as listed on the ingredients list may vary in the two products, though Cadbury’s has yet to comment.

So we’ll just have to wait patiently to taste whether this really is the hot chocolate of our childhood dreams.
