Cava Bodega, Galway’s multi award winning Mediterranean restaurant is celebrating its 10th birthday with exciting events planned for the May Bank Holiday Weekend.
The birthday celebrations run from Saturday 5th to Monday 7th May with festivities including a Sherry tasting and talk with JP McMahon, live flamenco music, Cava lunches and theatre performances.
Cava Bodgea is located in the heart of Galway City offering casual dining, locally scoured produce and tantalising tapas. The restaurant won Best Casual Dining Restaurant in Galway in 2017.
Owned by JP McMahon and Drigin Gaffey the restaurant is part of the successful EATGalway group, who also own Michelin Starred Aniar.
Speaking on the 10 year milestone JP said the restaurant still maintained its Spanish style while mixing with Irish elements, “Ten years on and the food in Cava, while still Spanish in terms of flavour and inspiration, has an Irish heart, beating with a sense of our local landscape.”
Looking towards Cava’s bright future he said he was “really looking forward to the weekend’s celebrations and I’m excited about the next ten years at Cava!”
On Sunday there is a ‘Celebrating Cava’ lunch in association with Honest2Goodness Wines where some of the best Spanish Cava will be paired with moreish tapas.
On May Bank Holiday Monday there is a ‘Taste of Spain in Galway’ for children to learn about and taste Spanish food. There will be an exciting performance of Food & Theatre by the Galway Theatre Festival, and a talk by JP McMahon including delicious Spanish bites.
