You know how it goes, you find a cool new place and you just have to share it with friends. Yesterday, after Taste of Dublin, we decided to try out a new pace on Baggot Street called Cavern, which is located in the basement of Baggot Street Wines. When you arrive you will notice a Black Door beside the wine shop, you can enter through here and down just 2 flights of stairs you are in a very comfortable new wine bar. Inside the wine bar can hold 40, but outside in the heated and enclosed courtyard they can cater for 50 people.
This place is a little different than most wine bars, you can BYOB from the Baggot Street Wines Shop upstairs and be charged only €5 corkage or you can select from their extensive wine menu, with a great selection of wines by the Glass or Bottle. We loved the way the menu was laid out, putting the wines into their different flavour categories. Cavern also has Salads and delicious Sharing boards which are all very reasonably priced.
The staff, the atmosphere and the wine are all on-point here, it is a great new addition to the Dublin Wine Scene and we feel it has a bright future.
We were so impressed by Cavern, we are planning on returning visit this weekend!
