It’s Time to Get Brewing for Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning in Aid of a Great Cause

Tomorrow the nation celebrates Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice, and marks 25 years of working Together with Bewley’s.

On September 14th people around the country will host coffee mornings to show their support of the long established initiative in aid of hospice care – join in on the conversation using #coffee4hospice.

Raising funds will benefit patients of palliative care and allow them to fulfil the most precious times of their lives with dignity, respect and comfort while spending time with their loved ones.

Remember to call your own friends, family and neighbours around, or gather your colleagues to the office kitchen, stick on the kettle and start pouring those cups of tea and coffee for this charitable cause.

Together with Bewley’s support, last year an incredible €1.7 million was raised for Irish local hospice, adding to the phenomenal sum of €34 million accumulated since the first coffee morning in 1993.

Speaking to RTÉ Radio 1, actor and ambassador for the charity Brendan Gleeson said of hospice care, “There’s a tremendous degree of pure goodness involved, and charity in its purest form, which is a selfless kind of act.

For me it’s very life affirming, because you can see people who are giving of themselves in order to alleviate the most difficult days of the end.”

Joining Gleeson as ambassadors Domhnall Gleeson, Keith Duffy, Ian Dempsey, Imelda May, Marian Finucane, Dr. Ciara Kelly, Mario Rosentock, Declan O’Donnell, Alan Hughes, Lorraine Keane and more.
