A Luxury Cruise Ship over 3 Times Longer than the Big Ben Disembarks in Dublin Today
Celebrity Cruises’ 2,850 passenger Solstice Class ship is expected to reach Dublin Port for the first time today at 12:30 pm.
Celebrity Cruises is bringing its X-Factor experience as passengers from luxury liner Celebrity Eclipse will disembark from Ocean Pier 33 to spend a day in the Irish capital, as part of a 12-night cruise with other stops in the UK and Iceland.
To give you an idea of the proportions of the ship, with a longitude of 313m, it has about two and a half times the height of the Great Pyramid of Gyza, it’s three times longer than a football field or three and a half times longer than the Big Ben.
Celebrity has succeed at becoming the liner for “Modern Luxury”, with over the top amenities and lavish decor. The company will grow its presence in Ireland over the next couple of years and as the country’s efforts to portray Dublin as a home port for cruises and to modernise its dock are showing results, 2017 is set to break records of tourists visiting Ireland through cruises.
