Clonakilty, the makers of Ireland’s favourite Blackpudding, just made the dreams of every Irish Breakfast connoisseur come true with the announcement of their brand-new Clonakilty Blackpudding Sausages which launch today, 29th March, in a select number of Tesco stores and independent shops across Ireland.
The sausages will use the same recipe as the much-loved Clonakilty Blackpudding, a recipe first created in the Clonakilty town in the 1880’s.
The recipe was adopted by butcher shop, Edward Twomey’s in rhe 1980’s to bring us the pudding we know and love today.
Clonakilty Blackpudding Sausages are the latest addition to the Clonakilty range which has grown over the years to include whitepudding, sausages, rashers and bacon.
The new sausages are said to “combine the traditional flavour of Clonakilty Sausages mixed with the unmistakable texture and flavour of our famous Clonakilty Blackpudding.”
The butchers at Clonakility recommend grilling the sausages, pan frying, and sticking them on the BBQ, if and when the sun comes out.
While Clonakilty Blackpudding is synonymous with breakfast fry ups, more and more people are innovating with the delicacy using it in salads for lunch or opting for pure comfot food with some mash and gravy for a hearty dinner.
