Cocktail of the Week from Bombay Sapphire

THE COCKTAIL

Bombay Sapphire1Orient Express €13.70

Orient Express is an exotic new gin cocktail created by The Marker’s expert mixology team and designed to showcase Star of Bombay, Bombay Sapphire’s new, distinctive, super-premium gin.

Star of Bombay elevates the complexity and smoothness of Bombay Sapphire through the addition of two extra botanicals, gently dried bergamot orange peel, sourced from the mountains of Calabria, Southern Italy, and ambrette seeds, from the tropical yellow hibiscus flower grown in Ecuador.

The elegant liquid captured in each bottle is achieved by slowing down the signature Vapour infusion process to increase the level of extraction from the botanicals, building richer aromas and more intense flavours. It is produced in small quantities at Bombay Sapphire’s state-of-the-art distillery at Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire, England.

Concocted by The Marker’s head bartender, Johnny Grozavu, Orient Express combines this extraordinary gin with the floral and fruity taste of homemade hibiscus syrup, fresh, citrusy lime juice, and fragrant Nepalese Timur peppercorns. This cocktail is certain to entice all of the senses with its rich aroma, intensely alluring taste and creative serve – a truly luxurious evening indulgence.

THE BAR

The Marker Bar exudes its own unique style and ambience. Modern, fresh and totally laid back, it draws an eclectic mix of people through its doors. It’s got some really unique features too, that strike just the right balance between work and play. The gorgeous feature fire provides the perfect setting for a long, lazy afternoon, flicking through the papers in perfectly cosy surroundings, or you can grab a helping of fresh air in the alfresco outdoor terrace area.

The Rooftop Bar at The Marker reopens in April 2016, reaching across the cityscape to the wild, natural beauty of the mountains and sea. Watch the evening sun set behind the city skyline, before settling back for an evening under the stars. There really is nowhere quite like it.
