Full Line Up of Events for Next Week’s Inaugural Cork Whiskey Festival Announced

Whiskey

As home of the best selling Irish whiskey in the world, it seems only right that Cork had it’s very own Whiskey Festival. The inaugural Cork Whiskey Festival runs this April 3rd – 9th across the Rebel city.

Organised by Festival Cork, the same crew behind Taste Cork Week and Cork Burger Festival, the week long festival will celebrate whiskeys from Ireland and across the world.

Working alongside some of the Cork’s best known bars and restaurants there will be whiskey tastings, talks, tours and treats throughout the week.

Kicking off a fantastic line up of events and offers on Monday 3rd, The Bodega will host a Jameson Makers Tasting. During the week there will also be tastings from Prizefight, Buffalo and Japanese Nikka Whiskey.

Electric Restaurant and Bar will be offering a Blind Whiskey Tasting throughout the week, which challenges whiskey lovers to identify three different varieties to win a €100 voucher.

On Saturday 5th, Stave and Chimes will be running a beer and whiskey pairing, cocktail masterclass, and tour of Fran Well brewery with complimentary nibbles – all for €40.

Restaurants getting involved include Ballymaloe House who will be serving a Glazed Ballymaloe Ham with Irish Whiskey Sauce all week long.

Other week long whiskey specials include a ‘buy two get one free’ offer at the White Rabbit Bar & BBQ on American Whiskey and Bourbon Flights and a devilish sounding Bacon Bourbon Pecan Pie.

And why not round out the festival with a Hyde Whiskey Food Pairing Brunch at The Woodford on Sunday 9th.

For the full list of events see the schedule below.

During the week, festival organisers will be asking the public to vote for the Best Whiskey Cocktail, Best Whiskey Event and Best Whiskey Dish.
