The World’s Best Bar is Touring Ireland in a Whiskey Wagon

The Dead Rabbit in New York City was named The Best Bar in the World in 2016 and is on the bucket list of cocktail lovers the world over. Headed up by Belfast barmen Seán Muldoon and Jack McGarry, this little piece of Ireland in the heart of the Big Apple is unfortunately a little bit far for most of us to pop into for a pint.

To ensure The Dead Rabbit stays true to its Irish roots however, the dynamic duo are undertaking an Irish whiskey research tour, in their very own custom-designed whiskey wagon. The boys have parked up at iconic Dublin venues such as O’Donoghue’s on Merrion Row and one of Dublin’s oldest watering holes, The Long Hall Pub, to get into the spirit ahead of their country-wide expedition.

Seán and Jack also stopped in to Gravediggers, Slattery’s, L. Mulligan Grocers and Grogan’s to immerse themselves in Dublin’s thriving bar scene and of course, to feast on some traditional Irish dishes for a taste of home. Next up was The Sidecar bar at the Westbury, to meet one of the city’s most vibrant mixology teams.

Dublin Liberties, the newest addition to the Dublin distillery scene and Teeling’s also had a visit from The Dead Rabbit duo, who are researching for a forth-coming book. The next stop on their Irish tour is Slane Castle, to take in this weekend’s highly anticipated Guns n Roses concert, before setting off to venues in Wicklow, Westmeath, Louth, Carlow and Offaly.

Dead Rabbit Tour

Keep an eye out for their amazing whiskey wagon around the country over the next couple of days or start planning a trip to London at the end of August, to take in The Dead Rabbit Pop-Up at Claridge’s, from the 15th to the 22nd.
