From the Capital’s Finest Eateries

PRESS RELEASE | LAUNCH PHOTO GALLERY | EVENT GUIDE | RESTAURANT MENUS FOR DINE IN DUBLIN 2015

On Thursday, 12th of February, Dine in Dublin launched its sixth year of the city’s favourite foodie festival with an exclusive showcase of Dublin’s hottest culinary offerings! Kicking off Dine in Dublin 2015 in impeccable style, DublinTown hosted an event like no other, welcoming a bevy of foodie elite to enjoy an elaborate tasting menu prepared by five of the city’s top chefs, boasting delectable dishes along with exciting live demos.

Event organisers, DublinTown were in good company with Brendan Courtney, Sinead Burke, Vicki Notaro, Jo Linehan, Caitlin McBride, Stuart Clarke and Liz Doyle of Evoke.ie among the many present on the night. Hosted by Andrew Rudd in the private and stylish surrounds of the soon to be opened The MGN on South Anne Lane, guests were treated to a unique and enviable experience with each of the five sumptuous dishes paired with a wine hand-picked by Liam Smith, Wine Manager at Fallon & Byrne and cocktails from Aaron Wall, General Manager at The Meeting House.

Phillip Hughes, Head Chef of Opium started off the evening serving up Asian Umami chicken broth, pork & prawn dumplings, baby pak choi and young ginger with shiitake mushroom and chilli. Followed by Derek Brown, head chef of Le Bon Crubeen who tantalised taste buds with crispy crubeens, choucroute and apple and hazelnut mayonnaise. San Lorenzo’s owner and head chef, Temple Garner whipped up magnificent scallops al forno, baked in the half shell served with mashed potato, creamy crab peperonata, basil and parmesan as the next dish. Guests then delighted in Pichet’s offering by owner and Head Chef Stephen Gibson, guinea fowl accompanied by butternut squash and spelt & slow cooked onions. To round the night off with salient, sweet sensations Shane Smith of Fallon & Byrne presented a tasting plate of hand crafted chocolate, salted pecans & raspberries.

Guests enjoyed some funky music to accompany the food courtesy of Sarah of the famed DJ ensemble Mother and DublinTown peppered the event with spot prizes for foodie trivia with treats including cook books from The Happy Pear, Rachel Allen, Catherine Fulvio, and Andrew Rudd and vouchers for participating eateries such as Opium, Salamanca, San Lorenzo’s, Pichet, Rustic Stone and Le Bon Crubeen.

This year’s Dine in Dublin Festival is set to be bolder and braver than ever with an exciting programme of bespoke events, including the Dine Pavilion, Gentleman’s Academy does Disco Brunch with Dine in Dublin, Wine & Dine in Dublin at Ely IFSC and a host of special offers from over 50 participating restaurants.
