Discover Your New Daily Grind – Grindstone Coffee Review

Located right outside Balally Luas stop, this busy coffee shop serves up a faultless cup of coffee. Grindstone is the perfect spot to get your pre-shopping energy boost, with Dundrum Town Centre located a mere five minute walk away.

The intoxicating smell of fresh coffee hits as soon as you walk through the door, intensifying the need for caffeine instantly. The interior design is simple and tidy, letting the focus remain on the quality of the beans. Bags of 3FE and Badger & Dodo coffee line the shelves, ready to purchase for the days you don’t feel like leaving home (even for coffee!).

There’s no indoor seating as they mainly serve take away, but I was lucky enough to visit on a sunny day, so I took advantage of the outdoor seating area. If you want to grab a bite to eat, the Brickyard Gastropub is located next door (who serve up a delicious brunch!), and you can order a Grindstone coffee to accompany your meal.

Inside, the long counter displays a range of baked goods that make it almost impossible to choose just one – I ended up choosing three! I admire those who can resist the temptation, but the cakes will certainly test your willpower while you’re waiting to place your order.

The coffee shop serves 3FE coffee, with the blend changing seasonally. They have an extensive range of coffees available, with an option of regular, almond, oat, cashew and hazelnut milk. I ordered a flat white with oat milk to satisfy my coffee cravings, while my friend opted for a regular flat white.

We sinfully chose to share a double chocolate chip cookie, a mini salted caramel and a mini jam doughnut. Something small to make our Monday a little sweeter! Our bill came to a total of €10.90 for two coffees and the cakes.

The milk was thick and velvety; an achievement considering oat milk can be hard to perfect. The coffee was fragrant with nutty undertones, perfectly complementing the intensity of the roast.

This spot is perfect for an on-the-go caffeine fix and is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area! Delicious treats and expertly made coffee, there’s nothing to stop me from visiting Grindstone on a daily basis (except my bank account!).
