There’s a Dog Festival in Dublin Weekend and It Sounds Like Heaven

We reported earlier in the week that The Barbers Bar in Grangegorman, Dublin 7, will hold a new Doggie Brunch Sunday Social, which will be launched on the Sunday 8th of October. There is yet more fantastic news for those of us with furry little friends – this weekend will see a Dog Festival coming to Dublin and we’re more than a little excited!

The Doggie Do will take place this Sunday 10th September and is in aid of Dog’s Trust and promises to be a pawesome day indeed. Beautiful Herbert Park will play host to a parade of pooches in what is being described as a ‘Mardi Gras for Man and Mutt’.

Highlights of the day include cultural chats and artistic workshops at The Cultured Canine, a chill out area called Doggie & Soul and great ReTail Therapy shopping. You can pick up treats for yourself too, with a picnic market garden packed with delicious dining options.

The main event will be the crowning of ‘The Dog Of Dublin 2017’ at the Canine Costume Competition – could your fur baby take the biscuit? Presenter Darren Kennedy will be handing out the prestigious pooch title and if your little friend is the spit of you, you can also enter a Doggelganger competition!

Tickets for this fantastic day out, which kicks off at 12.30pm, are available to buy online with a family pass for €30, adult ticket for €12 and kids and seniors tickets for €5. Students can avail of a discounted ticket price of €10.
