Dublin Airport’s Marqette Wins Food Hall Of The Year At FAB Awards

Dublin Airport’s food market, Marqette, has won the award for Airport Food Hall of the Year at the Moodie Davitt Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Conference & Awards at The Ritz-Carlton in Toronto, Canada.

Marqette, which is part of the Michael JF Wright Hospitality Group was crowned number one in the world from a shortlist of almost 250 entries from all sectors of the food and beverage sector.

The FAB awards recognise and reward best practice in the sector and Marqette was shortlisted in three categories; ‘Airport Food Hall of the Year’, ‘Airport Bar of the Year’ and ‘Airport Food on the Go’.

Airport dining is a highly competitive industry and Michael Wright, CEO of Michael JF Wright Hospitality Group sought to improve the food on offer at Dublin Airport.

Marqette’s on-site bakery makes fresh bread and pastries, street food, crepes and omelettes cooked via a converted 1960’s Citreon Van aptly named “The Hatch”.

Commenting on the win, Michael Wright said: “The FAB Awards are the cornerstone for airport dining from around the world and an award win is recognised globally.

A FAB award accreditation has the highest recognition amongst international consumers and airport F&B players. Winning this award will make a significant business difference to our team and the Marqette brand on an international level.”

Plans are currently underway for development of the concept in St. Andrews Church in Dublin’s City Centre and Mr. Wright is also looking forward to expanding into the overseas markets in the future.
