We all know that Dublin’s café scene is more exciting than it has ever been, with charming independent coffee shops dotted across the city. You could happily try somewhere new for your flat white fix every weekend, but if you’re on the hunt for an Insta-worthy spot, Wallpaper, “the global design authority”, has named a Dublin spot as one of the Best Coffee Shops for Design Lovers.
Nestled in among a line up of cafés from Amsterdam to Hong Kong, Bear Market on Pembroke Street has the design seal of approval and is celebrated for the unique curved service bar, minimalist wooden features and “meandering steel tubes”, created by Dublin based architecture studio Design Urban Architecture (dua.ie).

It is little wonder, as the duo behind Bear Market, Simon and Ruth, are architecture graduates themselves.
The third in Bear Market’s collection of cafés, this new addition has captured the eyes and hearts of caffeine lovers in the city with a seamless blend of breath-taking design, including a slick custom-designed steel table upstairs and a focus on a rotating offering of single origin options and an expertly blended house brew of Guatemalan and Colombian beans.
Bear Market is in great company on the curated list of cafés, which also includes Stories in Leeds, Bonanaza Roastery in coffee haven Berlin and Prague’s Misto. If you want your surroundings to be as inspiring as the contents of your cup, check out the full list here.
