DublinTown Food & Drink Festival 2018 – From 15th to 21st October

From the creators of Dine in Dublin, DublinTown Food and Drink Festival is adding more to the table of contents to give food and drink lovers a bigger festival menu. We are delighted to work with so many of the city centre’s restaurants, bars, cafés, bistros and hotels to make a programme of events that highlight the city’s amazing food and drink offerings.

Dublin City itself has a wealth of talent behind the scenes and this festival aims to bring a bigger spotlight to their skills.

2018 marks the inaugural year of the newest festival to hit the streets of Dublin. With over 50 participants taking part this year, we can’t wait for you all to experience the city through this gastronomic programme.

This year’s festival is in partnership with Pallas Foods and TheTaste.ie

DublinTown Food and Drink Festival Launch

DUBLINTOWN INTRODUCES A BRAND NEW FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL THIS OCTOBER

“Serving up the city’s best food and drink experiences!”

This October, DublinTown will launch a delicious festival dedicated to the city’s excellent food and drink, everything from skinny lattes to espresso martinis, and from pizza to porchetta! The inaugural DublinTown Food and Drink Festival will not only curate culinary and drink experiences, it will celebrate establishments that water and feed the city’s population from morning ‘til night.

The DublinTown Food and Drink Festival is a seven-day culinary celebration, reflecting the depth of experiences, cuisines, and occasions the capital has to offer, running from Monday 15th until Sunday, 21st October, 2018. There will be bespoke events to fill DublinTown’s network of restaurants, bars, cafes and coffee shops, as well as hotels and retailers too. The festival will also feed the mind of visitors with talks, workshops and masterclasses in the festival hubs across the city. There are dedicated events, as well as specific experiences for coffee lovers, and those who wish to learn more about farm to fork ethos.

Over 60 bars, cafes, restaurants and hotels are taking part in this inaugural DublinTown Food and Drink Festival, which has been put together by the DublinTown Hospitality Committee; a group of business owners and general managers within the bar, restaurant, café and hotel industry in the DublinTown District. Dublin is fast becoming one of the celebrated food and drink destinations with experiences and tastes drawn from across the globe, delivered as only Dublin can.

The Hospitality Committee that has curated the DublinTown Food and Drink Festival comprises Noel Anderson (owner, Lemon & Duke); Caroline Boyle (owner, Salamanca); Billy Creaney (Director, Fade Street Social, Rustic Stone, Brasserie Sixty6); Vanessa & Tim Greenwood (owners, Cook’s Academy); Joe Macken (owner, Jo Burger, Skinflint, Crackbird); Darren Moore (GM, The Church Bar & Restaurant); Vincent O’Gorman (GM, The Westbury); Pádraic O’Kane (Director, FIRE Restaurant & Lounge, SOLE Seafood & Grill and the Conference & Events Centre at the Mansion House); Eva Pau (owner, Asia Market, Duck) and Tom Stafford (GM, Vice Coffee).

Commenting on DublinTown Food and Drink Festival, CEO Richard Guiney from DublinTown, said: “This new festival is built on the success and foundations of the Dine in Dublin promotion. This is an opportunity to sample the best food and drink that the city has to offer. Dublin’s food and beverage offering has progressed dramatically in recent years. Visitors to Dublin rave about the quality and variety of food offering, while we have seen Dublin hosting the world barista championships. For more and more Dubliners, a trip to the city is revolving around a visit to our now world-famous food and drink outlets. This new festival is all about creating unforgettable experiences for the public,  with each business offering something truly different, focusing on unique occasions that highlight what this great city has to offer. There is so much choice on offer from the participating businesses;  it is well worth a visiting FoodAndDrinkFest.ie to see what appeals to your taste.

Adding to this, committee member, Pádraic O’Kane said: “Our aim is to establish and grow a world class food and drink festival for Dublin within a five year period. The 2018 inaugural festival will lay the foundation for the success and direction of the festival. Our principle goal is simple; support and cultivate the very things that make Dublin a gastronomic playground and tell the world.
