The eagerly awaited new venture from Dylan McGrath, Shelbourne Social, has officially released its opening date. On the 30th of November, the venue will open its doors in the elegant neighbourhood of Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.
An incredible investment of over €3 million has gone into creating the slick new venue, which will hold 85 seats, in a mixture of modern restaurant dining as well as informal dining. The bar at Shelbourne Social will be a laid-back space with a cocktail list that is both innovative and bold.
The brand new venue is the sixth restaurant concept from Dylan McGrath and his business partner Vincent Melinn, with Gerard Melinn and Billy Creaney playing to core roles within the team. Designed by award-winning Harcourt Architects, it is set to be one of the most exciting new locations on the Dublin dining scene.
McGrath put together a development kitchen team that has been working on the menus for Shelbourne Social, this includes Gavin McDonagh, Rory Carville, Bernard McGuane and Mohamed Ouchbakou.
Speaking ahead of the opening Dylan McGrath said, “Myself, my partner Vincent and our team are thoroughly enjoying working on this new venture. There are so many details being agreed and mulled over by so many skilled people in different fields, all pulling together with the aim of executing something cool, with a style of its own, without being too precious and still delicious. Our aim is to add to an already thriving area. We hope Shelbourne Social will be well received. We’ve worked hard on this.”
McGrath’s restaurant group employs over 250 staff across a number of other Dublin city venues that also include Fade Street Social, Rustic Stone, Bonsai Bar, Taste and Brasserie Sixty6. Eoin Tyrrell is joining Shelbourne Social as restaurant manager from Fade Street Social.
