Celebrity Chefs Flock to The West For Next Weekend’s Ennis Food Festival

Ennis Food Festival will be held from 12-15th October in food venues all over the town, with the festival’s main event, The Gourmet Food Village, taking place on Sunday the 15th of October.

The Gourmet Food Village will feature cookery demos with celebrity chef Kevin Dundon, alongside local and national Artisan food stalls, food sampling and the Clare Honey Show.

Visitors are encouraged to taste the food on offer throughout the food village, which will be a family friendly environment with music and free face painting for younger visitors.

Chairman of Ennis Food Festival, Dermot Fetton, said: “Now in our third year, Ennis Food Festival is continuing to move forward in 2017 with celebrity chefs Kevin Dundon and Rachel Allen joining us in Ennis in mid-October.

The festival will kick off with Rachel speaking to our visitors fire-side style at Temple Gate Hotel on Thursday. It will continue with exciting events in restaurants and cafes all over Ennis throughout the four days, culminating with the highlight event, the Gourmet Food Village, featuring cookery demonstrations with Kevin Dundon on Sunday in Glor.”

Kevin Dundon of Dunbrody Country House Hotel commented: “Ennis’ Gourmet Food Village easily inspires some great recipes based on its well-balanced range of artisan traders and I look forward to cooking up some unique dishes on the 15th October. It’s a pleasure to join Ennis Food Festival this year and I look forward to sharing cookery tips and show-casing high-end cookery with the audience.

Also in attendance will be Maeve Sheridan of Western Herd Brewing Company. Speaking about the festival, she said: “Being no stranger to food festivals and food awards all over Ireland, we are delighted to see our local food festival thrive here in Ennis.”
