Febvre introduces d’Arenberg “Chester’s Champions”

Febvre Wine Company announces the launch of a special promotion of D’Arenberg Wines to take place in selected Off-Licences around Ireland, who will be known as d’Arenberg “Chester’s Champion’s” during the coming months.

First started in 1912 in the McLaren Vale in South Australia, the winery is now spearheaded by the ever-challenging Chester Osborn, the fourth generation of the family business, who produces over 60 wines with 25 different grape varieties. James Halliday’s 2017 edition of the Australian Wine Companion has given them a Five Star Rating and the Winery has been names a ‘Top Ten Best Value Winery’. D’Arenberg is one of the most significant wineries in the McLaren Vale.

Chief Winemaker since 1984, Chester Osborn has developed a reputation for brazenly challenging convention, going against the grain and wearing absurdly loud shirts. D’Arenberg wines are known for their quirky names and interesting varietal blends and they are easily recognisable by the red stripe on the logo and label. Chester has always been passionate about discovering varieties that work well with the McLaren Vale terroir and has been instrumental in introducing many varieties to the region, including Marsanne, Rousanne, Tempranillo and Viognier.

Febvre has partnered with 10 Independent Off-Licences who will offer a range of d’Arenberg wines and will be known as: d’Arenberg “Chester’s Champions”

These Champions will carry a selection of d’Arenberg wines, create in-store visibility, host in-store tastings, run competitions and sell the wines at a special price. The main activity will run from October to December 2016 in the following venues :

– Dublin: Martin’s Off Licence, Fairview, Dublin 3; Shiel’s Londis, Malahide, Co Dublin; Redmond’s of Ranelagh, Dublin 6; and Donnybrook Fair Dublin 4

– Cork: O’Donovan’s, Cork

– Galway: Woodberry’s, Galway City

– Laois: Egan’s of Portlaoise
