There was much reason for The Fitzwilliam Hotel in Belfast to celebrate this week as the luxury hotel has been awarded a prestigious five star rating by the AA.
The Fitzwilliam Hotel opened in 2009 and gained a five star rating in November 2016 from the Tourism Northern Ireland grading system. Now they have been awarded another five star rating from the AA.
The exciting news was officially announced just as the hotel completed its £2 million investment to upgrade the luxurious bedrooms and increase the hotel’s capacity. This massive refurbishment brings the total of investment into the hotel up to £4 million since 2016.
General Manager of the Fitzwilliam Hotel, Cian Landers commented on the awards saying:
“The accreditation is testament to the efforts of the fantastic team we have here and the comments from the inspector show that the staff in all areas of the hotel made this possible. We are thrilled to have been recognised as an AA five-star rated hotel and will display our plaque with pride.”
The hotel is located in the heart of Belfast city, making it the perfect base to explore this vibrant city. The hotel offers two tempting dining options including The Restaurant and The Bar at the Fitzwilliam.
The kitchen is lead by Head Chef Ryan McFarland who has worked alongside Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing in many Michelin star restaurants. Guests can choose a more formal dining experience in The Restaurant or for more casual dining The Bar offers light bites and afternoon tea.
The hotel had even more reason to celebrate when they were presented with an AA Rosette Award for the hotel’s restaurant. The award recognises culinary excellence and celebrated the restaurant for its high quality food and produce.
