This frozen banana smoothie recipe is a great way to get your turmeric hit first thing in the morning. The banana adds sweetness, but if you have a full on sweet tooth and find you need extra sweetness, a little honey wouldn’t go astray.
Quick note: don’t freeze bananas with their skins on or whole. Instead peel them, slice them and pop them in a freezer bag and into the freezer. It’s always useful to keep a supply of frozen banana slices in the freezer for recipes like this.
– 1 frozen banana
– 1 ½ cups almond milk
– ½ cup ice cubes
– 1 tsp ground turmeric
– 1 tsp coconut oil
– 1 tsp ground cinnamon
– ¼ tsp black pepper
– 1 tsp honey (optional)
1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend into a smooth and creamy smoothie.
2. Serve straight away or store in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
