Galway’s New Bilingual Market Tiny Traders Village Opens Tomorrow

Galway’s newest market will open its doors for the first time this Saturday 26th of August on the grounds of Aras na nGael, an Irish language and cultural centre on Dominick St.

Named the Tiny Traders Village, it will gather nearly 50 stalls which will offer varied artisan products and thanks to its bilingual nature, the initiative won’t only be great to showcase local businesses but to promote, speak and practice the Irish language.

Tiny Traders Village will open from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm every Saturday starting tomorrow and it will offer visitors a taste of some of the best local producers of food and drink as well as other crafts.

“All welcome to explore the vast array of foods, drinks, crafts and more that the Tiny Traders Village will offer in our brand new covered outdoor courtyard” reads the announcement on the market’s opening Facebook event Page.

The market will also serve as a platform for local musicians and it’s expected to host live entertainment, as well as talks, cultural events and other activities.

Áras na nGael hosts Irish classes, music workshops and family friendly events and it was opened for the Irish language community in 1938.
