If you’re a dab hand with a whisk and love nothing more than an afternoon in the kitchen baking up a storm, why not put this passion to work for a wonderful cause? Now in it’s eighth year, Temple Street’s Great Irish Bake is back with ambassador Amy Huberman on Friday April 7th and people around the country will be popping on their aprons to make a difference.
Whether it is in your school, office, college or creche, everyone can play their part in the Great Irish Bake by holding a bake sale and raising vital funds for the children in Temple Street Hospital. It couldn’t be easier to get organised for the event as once you register you will be sent a toolkit with balloons, posters and tasty tips for delicious treats.
Bakers and organisers can print bunting, posters and stickers to decorate their bake sale stalls and can spread the word via social media about their event. Encourage your family, friends and everyone you know to take a whisk and get baking, pricing the goodies accordingly to raise some dough for a fantastic cause.
If you need some inspiration, The Great Irish Bake page has plenty of free recipes from much loved chefs such as Neven Maguire and Lilly Higgins, as well as plenty of simple recipes so the whole family can get involved in the baking fun.
