Glenisk open one-day #EatLikeThem pop-up on Dublin’s Dawson Street

The pop-up restaurant will open on February 3rd in Tang on Dawson Street with all proceeds from the day being donated to Peter McVerry Trust

Glenisk, Ireland’s best loved yogurt brand and the Official Yogurt of Irish Rugby, will host an exclusive one-day pop-up restaurant experience in Tang on Dawson Street on Monday, February 3rd. Following Ireland’s opening encounter of the 2020 Guinness Six Nations on Saturday 1st, the restaurant will be serving up a host of limited-edition rugby-inspired recipes from 7.30 am, giving the public the opportunity to see how a professional rugby player can fuel their day.

As part of their “Eat Like Them” campaign, Glenisk have developed a menu of 15 scrum-ptious high-protein dishes using the Irish Strained Protein Yogurt range, which is a staple component of the performance diet of the Irish Senior Men’s and Women’s teams.

The menu will feature both breakfast and lunch options as well as a selection of delicious all-day protein snacks, developed by Glenisk in collaboration with the IRFU Performance Nutrition team, with dishes such as the Protein Pancakes, slow-cooked Marinated Irish Beef and Vegetarian Falafel. Dishes will range in price from €2.50 up to €9, with all proceeds from the day donated to Peter McVerry Trust, Glenisk’s charity partner for the event.

There will also be chances to win great rugby prizes on the day including tickets to see Ireland v Wales on February 8th.

Shane Horgan, former Irish International and Glenisk Ambassador says “As a former rugby player, I understand the importance and value of a healthy and high protein diet; I can also appreciate the struggle to sometimes make meals that are both nutritious and tasty. The recipes created by Glenisk using their strained protein yogurt tick both boxes – tasting delicious and providing the right amount of protein to keep players at the top of their game. I’m delighted to be working with Glenisk again on their #EatLikeThem campaign and would definitely recommend heading to their pop-up restaurant on Monday, February 3rd on Dawson street to try the dishes out for yourself”.

Managing Director of Glenisk, Vincent Cleary says “At Glenisk, we believe in food-first nutrition for a healthy lifestyle. Since becoming partners of the IRFU in 2016, both the male and female Irish Rugby teams have incorporated our product into their daily diet, specifically our range of Irish Strained Protein Yogurts which contain 0% fat and are high protein. We have created 15 recipes to showcase the numerous ways our product can easily be included in a variety of nutritious and flavoursome breakfast, lunch and snack options. We can’t wait for the public to try them at our one-day pop-up experience, part of our Eat Like Them campaign.”
