Gouda News! The Cheese Bar of Our Dreams Exists

Well known fact: there is nothing that cannot be improved with the addition of cheese. Too much cheese, for fromage fiends like ourselves, is really never enough so we were more than a little excited to learn that a dedicated cheese bar exists. The Cheese Bar is located in Camden, home of one of London’s eclectic markets, and it is dream-worthy.

The Cheese Bar opened earlier this year and has given a permanent home to the extremely popular The Cheese Truck a mobile purveyors of grilled cheese sandwich perfection across London. Widely regarded as one of London’s food truck highlights, the incredibly tempting cheesy delights can now be enjoyed in a slick setting along with some interesting fromage-based treats.

The menu reads like the stuff of dreams, with Fondue with Smoked Sausage, London Burrata and Mozzarella Sticks to start, before main events like Blue Cheese Raclette made with one of our favourite Northern Irish cheeses, Young Buck. On the grilled cheese front, expect tantalizing combos like Goats Cheese, Honey and Walnut Butter and Bishop Stilton, Bacon and Pear Chutney.

Even dessert at The Cheese Bar features the key ingredient, in the obvious form of Lemon Cheesecake but far more exciting Devonshire Blue Ice Cream with Poached Pear and Honeycomb. They even have a handy G&T Sorbet to cleanse your palate post cheese feast – genius.

As if hopping on a flight to London ASAP to sample this cheese dream wasn’t already on your mind, The Cheese Bar is also teaming up with Help Refugees UK to hold a cheese-based charity dinner on September 14th. Founder of The Cheese Bar Matthew Carver has challenged five London-based chefs to create a cheesy dish for the event and Guests can tuck in to all the creations, with a glass of wine or a beer for £20.

50% of the profits raised will go to aiding in the European refugee crisis, so it is the perfect way to show support to a fantastic charity while getting your fromage fix. Book those flights!
