The Irish Game Fair & Fine Food Festival returns this weekend June 25th and 26th to Slanes Castle in Co. Antrim. The largest fair of its type, this is a celebration of all things country and a great day out with the whole family.
From 10am to 6pm each day you can step back in time with the best in medieval entertainment with jousting and falconry, live history in the village with reenactments and displays and a host of vintage vehicles, machinery and master craftsmen displaying their skills.
Country sports are also celebrated with lots to do including archery, shooting ranges, fly casting displays and training sessions. Feel free to bring your canine companion to join in the fun with dog shows and demonstrations taking place throughout the weekend.
As part of Northern Ireland’s Year of Food and Drink 2016, the festival will host a Fine Food pavilion featuring the best of Northern Ireland’s food and drink producers. Sample delicious chutneys and preserves, breads and cheeses, oils and meats and, of course, artisan ciders and beers.
Renowned chef, food historian and Gourmand World Award winner Emmett McCourt will be on hand providing cooking demonstrations and talks about seasonality and Northern Ireland’s great ingredients.
The tented village in the fair will play host to top country brands with a range of fashion, kitchen ware, books and even dog beds for sale. The Irish Game Fair and Fine Food Festival is a great celebration of the best of Northern Ireland and a superb weekend out for the whole family.
