Discover the Irish Producers Taking Part in the House of Peroni’s La Sagra Event

The House of Peroni brings Italy’s best kept foodie secret to Ireland with a sagra food festival at Meeting House Square in Dublin on Thursday, 19th and Friday, 20th October.

The House of Peroni La Sagra event will champion some of the Irish food producers who are inspired by Italy in their work.

The Wooded Pig is a specialist family charcuterie that raises and breeds its own free range pigs in Tara, Co. Meath.

The meats are cured on site, into a range of quality, ethically-raised Irish charcuterie. The special habitat, coupled with the in-house production, gives the air-dried meats a truly unique flavour with owner Eoin Bird getting his training in Tuscany. The Wooded Pig makes coppa, pancetta, and four different flavoured salami.

Toons Bridge Dairy makes Italian style cheeses in an old creamery building in the famous artisan food region of West Cork.

Owned and run by Toby Simmonds and Jenny-Rose Clarke, Toons Bridge is also a family business. Head cheese maker, Franco Picciulo, hails from the heart of the mozzarella region in Southern Italy.

Franco works with raw cow and sheep milk to create over 12 varieties of cheese, including mozzarella, burrata, ricotta and straw smoked scamorza.

Both The Wooded Pig and Toons Bridge Dairy will have their own stands at La Sagra selling tasters and bites, while their produce will be used in the cicchetti (Italian small bites) menu served at the event.

There will also be a stall selling Italian essentials including olives, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes and olive oil to take home.

In addition, Dublin Pizza Company will bring its authentic wood-fired Neapolitan pizza to the Sagra celebration.

The House of Peroni’s global brand ambassador, Dublin-based Federico Riezzo, will serve his newly designed Sagra-inspired Peroni infusion during the event.

Peroni Ambra, the new aperitivo drink from the Italian brew masters, will also be available alongside Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Peroni Nastro Azzurro Gluten Free.

General entry to the sagra is free of charge, and the event is taking place from Thursday 19th to Friday 20th of October.
