This Incredible Island Resort Has Been Named The World’s Best Hotel – Have You Been?

Travellers have never had so much choice when it comes to holiday accommodation. With everything from budget hotels and Air b&b’s to the most unique and luxurious properties.

Travel magazine, Travel + Leisure, have revealed the results of their 2018 World’s Best Awards, with readers voting for their favourite hotels, destinations and much more.

The Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan in Indonesia claimed the top spot with a score of 98.22. The luxury resort is currently celebrating its 20th year and its unique features and secluded location all add to the hotel’s appeal.

Describing the winning hotel, Travel + Leisure write: “Celebrating its 20th year, this 60-room property in the Ayung River Valley is reached via a suspension bridge that hovers over coconut trees and rice fields. The drama doesn’t end there: each of the riverside guest villas has a meditation space and lily pond on the roof, as well as an outdoor living room and pool.”

They add: “The sense of calm befits the resort’s location near Ubud, the spiritual heart of Bali. Yet new experiences, including cooking lessons in a bamboo-clad center designed by Elora Hardy and Sacred Nap relaxation treatments, keep things innovative and modern.”

As if hanging out within the resort’s grounds wasn’t relaxing enough, visitors can also enjoy treatments in The Sacred River Spa.

While we’ll definitely be adding this hotel to our ultimate travel bucket list for the future, we can plan out some Irish staycations much sooner.

So how did Ireland do in the World’s Best Awards for 2018? Revealing the ten best UK and Ireland hotels, there wasn’t much surprise as to the voters’ choices given that “castle hotels are a big draw in Ireland, especially those that retain their centuries-old charm while integrating flawless renovations.”
