Jacob’s Creek is a firm favourite in the Irish market and Trina Smith, one of the key Jacob’s Creek Winemakers, has teamed up with popular hotspot Sophie’s at the Dean hotel to create a sumptuous meal to celebrate the launch of Jacob’s Creek’s newest addition to their collection – Double Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon.
On Tuesday October 3rd, Head Chef Richard Carmody will create a very special three course dinner, which will be expertly matched with the newly released Cabernet Sauvignon. The event kicks off at 7pm and it is sure to be an evening to savour.
As a result of a one-of-a-kind partnership with Cork’s Midleton Distillery, the Jacob’s Creek Winery has produced this unique Cabernet Sauvignon, which has been aged in specially chosen whiskey barrels, adding additional layers of oak complexity, including almond-shell aromas, which enhance the sweet vanilla and toasty oak nuances of wine barrels. The result? A richer, deeper and smoother taste that is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Guests will be given the chance to taste the wine both before and after it has gone through the aging process in the whiskey casks to highlight the effects of the whiskey barrels, all the while enjoying a seriously delicious paired menu.
Trina Smith will guide guests throughout the evening’s event, explaining the unique Double Barrel technique, and how this adds to the overall complex flavour profile of the wine.
As one of the city’s most bustling nightspots, Sophies allows you to take in the unparalleled views across Dublin city, so it is the perfect place to experience this exciting new wine with a delicious matching menu. Tickets for this tasty evening are priced at €45 and are available to purchase on EventBrite, but move quickly, spaces are limited!
Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon is also being served at Sophie’s sister restaurants, Angelina’s and Roberta’s and is also available for purchase at our brand new Dollard & Co Food Hall & Grill.
