We’ve been spoiled recently by a series of bar openings all across Dublin. There really is something new out there for every personality and budget, from the ultra luxurious 9 Below by Stephen’s Green, to the charming Cafe Rubis on Parliament Street and the lively Phibsborough gastropub The Bald Eagle, just to name a few.
Now is Blackrock’s turn to welcome a new place, as the leafy suburb has seen the opening of Kelly & Coopers, a new pub and kitchen in the heart of the area, located on the site of the old Ouzos restaurant at 39 Main Street, and run by the same owners.
The concept, laid-back and relaxed, aims to offer great food and drinks at reasonable prices. The menu include the pub classics you know and love, such as toasted sandwiches, wings, roast chicken and fish and chips, along with a few more modern additions like avocado on toast, thyme baked Halloumi salad and super food salads.
Meals are cooked to order and they make their own pub crisps, ideal for snacking in between pints!
Kelly & Coopers’ decor is modern, well lit and with leather chairs and stools that invite you to sit back and relax. While it reopened just earlier this month, it’s already getting love from locals and if you’re in Blackrock, it’s worth a visit whether you’re looking for hearty food, a drink or both.
