The banks of the Loch Lein in Killarney are said to have been the site of Tir na Nog in old Irish Legend, but the most magical lakeside feature has just been revealed by the European Hospitality awards. Killarney’s five star Europe Resort & Spa is home to a state of the art ESPA facility overlooking the lakes and McGillycuddy Reeks mountain range. This stunning facility has just been named Best Hotel Spa at the European Hospitality awards, pipping luxury properties around the Continent to the prestigious title at a ceremony in London last week.
The award recognises “how the spa has had an impact of the reputation and brand of the hotel and how individual it is” and ESPA has certainly added a dimension to the Europe Hotel Resort, which was recently named Best Overall Hotel at the National Hospitality Awards in Dublin.
ESPA at the Europe was the only Irish property to scoop an award at the European Hospitality Awards, which named numerous London properties as winners in their respective categories. 45 Park Lane, a member of the Dorchester Collection, was named Best Boutique Hotel and Best Hotel Suite awarded to Rosewood London’s Manor Suite. ME London’s Radio Rooftop received the award of Best Hotel Bar and Staybridge Suites London Vauxhall was named Overall Hotel of the Year.
