The Kilmore Quay Seafood Festival returns for its 33rd year on 12th – 18th July to the delight of seafood lovers.
The week long celebration will be a jam packed day of tastings, wine pairings, cookery demonstrations, history walks and much more.
One of the main highlights of the festival will be the popular Fish Friday on Friday the 13th. Guests to the festival can watch live cookery demonstrations in the Marquee from top chefs.
Award winning seafood chef Paul Hynes from La Côte will be showing festival goers his top tips and techniques he uses to prepare his seafood delights.
Following this acclaimed chef Gopal Kawander of the Silver Fox Restaurant will be showing guests how he uses fabulous Eastern flavours to compliment his seafood.
TV star Chef Adrian will also be on hand showing us some fantastic recipes from his second cookery book “Fakeaway” – demonstrating how easy it is to whip us speedy and tasty dinners at home for all the family.
You can browse the famous fish market of the Kilmore Quay Fish Festival and buy fish fresh landed directly from the fisherman at the harbour, you won’t get fresher than this!
Fitness fanatics can join the Seafood Festival Run on Saturday 14th. This brisk 5k run will certainly build up at appetite for the delicious local fish on offer.
There will also be a number of interesting coastal walks. Learn about the history and wildlife of Kilmore Quay’s neighnouring islands The Saltee’s while you enjoy the picturesque views over the harbour.
