Seafood Lovers Will Flock to the Seaside This Summer for Le Plancha’s Fishy Dishes

Given it’s stunning seaside setting the suburb of Monkstown has lot to offer, and if a summer trip to the coast isn’t the same for you without a serving of fresh fish then your first port of call should be Le Plancha.

This family owned restaurant, run by husband and wife Andrew Lawlor and Eimear Brannelly, popped up on Monkstown’s ‘Golden Mile’ of restaurants last year, after they had already captured the hearts of the people of Blackrock, where they first opened five years ago.

Bringing their Mediterranean style of cooking Monkstown this summer, locals and visitors alike can sample a spectrum of seafood dishes from Calamari Frito to King Prawn Crostini and even Fish ‘n’ Chips.

There’s also their signature mussels dish cooked in a tomato, white wine, chilli and garlic sauce is the perfect dish for summer, particularly when accompanied by a glass of white from the restaurant range of exquisite wines.

If comfort food is calling your name, because let’s face it Ireland’s summer weather isn’t always sublime, then the seafood linguine with clams, mussels, prawns and calamari in tomato chilli sauce will hit the spot.

Catering for all your cravings, they have even elevated the humble Fish ‘n’ Chips – not a greasy chip wrapper in sight!

The restaurant comes into it’s own however when serving Mediterranean inspired food, like their Spanish style fish stew with clams, gambas, mussels, market fish with potato in saffron and tomato broth.

And although the food is often inspired by Andrew and Eimear’s travels abroad, this seafood lovers haven serves freshest of local ingredients, meats and fish, andeverything, where possible, is prepared and baked in-house including their homemade ice-cream, breads, stocks, sauces and crackers.

Le Plancha is open 6 days a week; from Tuesday to Saturday, 5.30pm-10.30pm, on Saturday and Sunday for lunch, 12pm – 3pm, and Sunday for dinner, 5pm – 9pm.
