Lidl has launched a pop-up bakery in aid of its charity partner, Jigsaw Youth Mental Health, at The Mart in Rathmines, Dublin.
Jigsaw provide free, confidential and professional support to young people between the ages of 12 and 25 in 13 locations nationwide. Lidl Ireland recently announced the launch of a three year partnership with Jigsaw, which saw Lidl pledge to donate €1 million to the charity over the three year partnership.
The pop-up bakery is travelling to three locations across Ireland; Dublin, Limerick and Cork. They’ll be selling Lidl’s delicious bakery goods and encouraging a relaxed environment to speak openly about mental health issues, sharing advice and experiences over a cup of coffee and a pastry.
A range of activities that support mental well-being will be also hosted in the evenings, such as sing along socials, laughter yoga and acoustic evenings. All proceeds from the events will be donated directly to Jigsaw as well as 1c of every bakery item purchased in Lidl Ireland’s 156 stores nationwide.
The locations and dates for the pop-up bakery are as follows:
1) The Mart, Rathmines Road Lower, Rathmines, Dublin 6: Tuesday 21st August – Thursday 23rd August
2) East Pier, Dun Laoghaire Harbour, Co. Dublin: Friday 24th August – Sunday 26th August
3) The Potato Market, Merchants Quay, Limerick: Thursday 30th August – Sunday 2nd September
4) Cork City Centre between North Main Street and Cornmarket Street: Thursday 6th September – Sunday 9th September
