Lidl is Giving Customers the Chance to Win their Christmas Shopping

For the festive season ahead Lidl Ireland is offering 144 lucky customers around the country a chance to win their entire Christmas shopping.

Tickets for Lidl’s nationwide Trolley Dash went on sale today for just €1. Winners will be challenged ‘Supermarket Sweep’ style to dash around Lidl and grab as much of their Christmas shopping as possible in just two minutes!

100% of proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Lidl’s charity partner Barretstown. Last year Lidl’s Christmas Trolley Dash raised €135,000 and tickets sales are expected to increase even more this year.

Tickets will be sold at checkouts nationwide until Sunday 6th December. Customers can enter as many times as they like and one winner will be chosen at random from each of Lidl’s 144 stores.

The Christmas Trolley Dash will take place in every Lidl store on Saturday 12th and 19th December at 8am.

Speaking about the Trolley Dash competition, Dee Ahearn, CEO of Barretstown, said: “This is a fantastic prize for lots of families so close to Christmas and of course it is also a tremendous opportunity for us to raise much needed funds before the end of the year. The proceeds that will be raised by Lidl’s Christmas Trolley Dash will help us provide camp programmes throughout 2016 for children suffering from serious illness. Each year Barretstown has to raise €4.5m to stay operational and it’s initiatives such as these that help us reach that target, enabling us to provide more camps and reduce waiting lists.”
