Stop the Press! Gordon’s Limited-Edition Pink Gin is Coming to Ireland

We’ve seen quite a few interesting gin launched recently: from the world’s first non-alcoholic gin to an unusually coloured blue gin that magically turns pink when you pour tonic water. And our thirst for cool gins will soon be quenched by a most familiar name: Gordon’s pink gin has just been launched in the UK and it’s coming to Ireland very soon.

The limited edition premium gin has been created to offer a smoother and softer drinking experience, and as mentioned in the company’s website, it was inspired by an original Gordon’s recipe from the 1880s: “the pink gin is perfectly crafted to balance the refreshing taste of Gordon’s with the natural sweetness of raspberries and strawberries, with the tang of redcurrant served up in a unique blushing tone.”

The berry taste and hue are achieved with natural fruit flavours only and its juniper profile is subtle and mild. The gin’s alcohol level is also slightly lower that average, with a shy 37,5% ABV.

Gordon’s Premium Pink Gin was launched exclusively in Tesco, priced at £13 (€14.5) and is currently available in Northern Ireland. It is expected to reach the Irish market mid-August.

Tesco’s serving suggestions are very summery: “to set the occasion serve in a large wine glass, filled with ice and garnished with fresh strawberries” or if you’d like to go the extra mile, they also recommend a trendy spritzer: Gordon’s Pink Spritz: “mix 2 parts Gordon’s Pink with 2 parts lemonade and 1 part Prosecco. Serve in a large wine glass filled with ice, garnish with fresh strawberries and raspberries.”
