Over five action packed days, the Listowel Food Festival will see the Kerry town will become a haven for food lovers with a jam packed schedule of cookery demos, a gala dinner, kids events and lots more taking place from Thursday, November 9th to Monday, November 13th.
Highlights of the 23rd annual festival include cookery competitions, the craft fair, an expanded programme of workshops for all ages, and the the much anticipated Best Emerging Artisan Food Producer Awards.
Getting things off to a flying start, on Thursday 9th at The Listowel Arms Hotel presenter, actor, and now cookbook author, Simon Delaney, and local chef Lizzy Lyons will host the Official Opening Night ceremony.
The duo will prepare dishes from Simon’s new book, ‘Simply Simon’s: The Diner Cookbook’ for VIP chef’s table guests which will host a few special guests, including the 2017 Rose of Tralee Jennifer Byrne.
Tickets for the opening night are €15, including wine and canapes on arrival, and can be purchased on Eventbrite.
On day two, Friday 10th, highlights include the Listowel Farmers market, the Food Fair Awards Dinner, and night of live jazz with samplings of the locally reared pork in John B’s Bar.
If you don’t decide to start your Saturday by taking part in the Kerry Crusaders Marathon and 10k run, you can join the Listowel Food Trail or attend the wine tasted hosted by TheTaste.ie contributor and wine expert Liam Campbell, in associated with Tipperary Crystal and hosted by Galvin’s Select Wine.
On Sunday there will be a craft fair for all the family to enjoy as well as a food fair food hall in The Listowel Arms Hotel.
