Lobster at a Festival?! The Gastronomic Line-up at Body & Soul

Body & Soul revealed today that its 2019 banquet of gastronomic treats is its biggest ever with top-notch nosh for its festival foodies. Nothing brings people together like food, and to help its food-loving tribe to break bread together Body & Soul has brought together it’s favourite food producers with a decadent smorgasbord of cuisines, styles and cultures. Whatever artisanal craving hits you, the festival, which celebrates its 10th incarnation this year, will have you covered with tantalising treats that includes lobster, tapas, ramen, vegan burgers and more delectable delights.

Indulge yourself at the sustainability-driven and ever-popular Food on Board Area, where gastronomic indulgence and long-table banqueting is complemented by the clink of Veuve Clicquot champagne flutes. Each vendor brings its own unique style, providing highest-quality food made with organically sourced ingredients. The menu this year includes Hawaiian poke bowls from Shaka Poke; freshly barbecued lobster once again from Julia’s Lobster Truck; toasted sandwiches from Market Kitchen; My Goodness for vegan delights; Si Mami for mouth-watering tacos and tlayudas; Katie Sanderson’s cult White Masusauce makes for super tasty rice bowls; and Diva Boutique for an array of baked goods made fresh.

With sustainability at its very core and permeating every strand of the festival, the Food on Board area has been given the eco treatment. Food is served on a wooden board, washed and recycled throughout the weekend. Commenting on its food ethos, Traders Manager, Corinna Flood said, “We serve up food and music that is good for both the Body & the Soul. Through the selection, management and regulation of the food offering, we see it as an important platform for raising awareness and helping to create positive social change around the issue of sustainability. You won’t see any greasy spoons or processed foods, only original, new to the market and fresh, tasty servings”.

Body & Soul are launching a new Veg Village, a dedicated area for scrumptious vegan and vegetarian dishes. Come celebrate the vegan lifestyle with a host of specialty vendors on offer such as Vish Shop, Dublin’s first purely vegan take away starring a vegan Fish and Chip; the finest and freshest ingredients fromLoving Salads; plant-based vegan burgers from V Face; feisty dishes atFeashty; and Buttercream Dream, Ireland’s first vegan cake shop!

Other street foods to savour over the weekend are authentic Mexican food fromLa Concina Cuevas; Kerala Kitchen for a true taste of India; and Grálinn for brunch and Irish tapas, delicious gourmet pizzas provided by Big Blue Bus; and tasty stacked egg sandwiches from Mad Yolks.

While you’re there, raise a toast with the world’s finest champagne, Veuve Clicquot in its signature champagne goblets and to the daring spirit and maverick ways of Madame Clicquot who broke with the accepted norms of her time to pioneer the world’s first ever blended Rosé Champagne. Festival-goers looking to taste a little luxury in the Body & Soul sunshine can choose from Veuve Clicquot’s classic Yellow Label or Rosé champagnes.

In the 10 years since a wave of creative energy formed Body & Soul as a stand-alone event, the team have pioneered the holistic and sensory stimulation benchmarks festival goers have come to expect from Irish festivals today…. Lose yourself in a magical immersive escape through walled gardens, natural amphitheatre and the tangle of ancient woodlands; revel in the moonlight with new music pioneers meeting legends and cult favourites; discover hidden art installations, immersive theatre experiences and impromptu spoken word performances under a canopy of centuries-old trees; speak your truth at incisive political discussions and insightful workshops; let young imaginations run riot at Soul Kids; With wellbeing at its essence since inception, The Sanctuaryoffers an extensive indulgence, performance and talks programme finessed over a decade, attracting top practitioners and speakers from all over the country.
