This Chic Restaurant and Bar Is Throwing an End of Prohibition Party this Good Friday

Just like the 5th of December of 1933 marked the end of Prohibition laws in the United States, the 2nd of April of 2018 will be remembered as the first Good Friday in which the ban on sales of alcohol in Ireland was not in effect after 90 years of existence.

To celebrate the occasion, Mak at D6 is throwing an End of Prohibition Party on the Friday 30th of March from 5:30 pm. A DJ will soundtrack the evening from 8:00 pm until late. Expect exciting cuisine and fabulous cocktails as well as great energy.

As a nod to the Prohibition era, vintage attire is encouraged so bring in the flapper glam and the gangster suits and don’t hesitate to add some roaring twenties sparkle to your look.

Last 25th January, Ireland’s hospitality industry celebrated the change in the licensing laws that ended the 90 year old ban on alcohol sales in pubs on Good Friday. This will be the first time since the introduction of the ban in 1927 that people in Ireland will be able to have a drink in a bar or restaurant on Good Friday instead of having to think outside the box to enjoy a pint.
