BBC MasterChef Finalist, Alison O’Reilly, who was praised by the judges for her inventive and stylish dishes, is coming home to host a very special evening at O’Connell’s Restaurant, Donnybrook, Dublin on Saturday, August 26th.
For €55 per person the ‘Indian Summer Supper’ includes a 4 Course Menu, nibbles of Green Saffron Spiced Popcorn, and a Raspberry & Mint Rossini on arrival.
To begin, guests will descend on Starter Counter laden with exotic delights like Irish Water Scallops with Saffron Yellow Pepper Puree and Irish Hereford Prime Beef and Preserved Lemon Salsa on Firehouse Bakery Foccacia.
After a palate cleansing Pineapple & Lime Sorbet, O’Connell’s famous Josper Grill will be fired up to produce Half ‘Josperised’ Irish Chicken, Cardamom Spiced Lamb Rump and Josperised Cauliflower Steak for veggies.
Dessert will be a no less fragrant affair, with Orange Cake, Date & saffron ice cream, pecan crumb and a Rose & Raspberry Eton Mess.
While this supper has a Indian influence, ever since her exit from the cooking show the Dublin native has been honing a culinary style that offers fresh approach to Irish food that focuses on using local seasonal produce but with a fun and sophisticated slant.
Having worked in food marketing for years, she is now carving out a new path as chef and food writer.
She is also member of female chef trio Three Girls Cook, with her fellow MasterChef finalists and they are running a series of supper clubs in London, the full details of which you can find at foodbyalison.com.
